A second-year BA (Hons) Journalism student at Coventry University, I am an enthusiastic and confident individual, with an ambition to create content dedicated to promoting inclusion and sustainability. I am applying for the Content Writer internship role with Luther Marketing Group, as advertised on Handshake.
During my first year at university, as part of my ideas network module, I created a social media campaign based on cerebral palsy because it is a subject close to my heart, and I am passionate about trying to raise awareness about this disability. I interviewed Sarah Lilly, the manager of a cerebral palsy center, all about disability and how it can affect everybody differently. I created videos and took pictures to post on all my different social media platforms. For another project, I also created a 2.5-minute TV package on Great Britain’s chances of success in the Paralympics. I wanted to identify a fresh perspective on this idea to understand how somebody can overcome adversity and still have the mindset to become an athlete. I interviewed Paralympian Kare Adenegan, who spoke about how it would feel to win gold in Paris. During my interview, I learned how to word my questions dialectally around a serious subject and developed my editing of a TV package because it was different to what I was used to editing.
I resonate with Luther Marketing Group because of the emphasis you provide on diversity, inclusivity, and social responsibility. These three factors are important to me because I am always willing to learn about the amazing things that make people so special.
From experience with my course and personal projects, I am skilled in conducting interviews and taking meticulous notes to perform deep research.
